Faculty:
Mr. Moffat:
I am planning on spending this Christmas in Mexico City, enjoying the food, culture, and art of the city. We will ride bikes in the city, go to a Ballet Folklorico show, and probably take a cooking class as a family. We have tried to focus on experiences rather than gifts at Christmas.
Ms. Kiener:
My family and I celebrate Christmas in quite a simple way. It’s usually just my immediate family (my parents, my brothers and their wives, and my husband and I). We decorate the house and everything, but the really special part of our Christmas is my mom’s baking. My mom will make cinnamon rolls, cheese danishes, and all sorts of other things. So we just spend our day in our pajamas and eat the delicious food my mom made.
Students:
Jocelyn Jones ‘28: We’ll first travel to see family, and then visit a state. Last year I went to Texas to visit family and then New York.
Maira Srivastava ‘28: My family doesn’t celebrate Christmas because we’re Hindu, but we usually have a tree in our house. Christmas is a way for my family to come together, but not for religious reasons!
Emma Sun ‘28: I go to Lake Tahoe to go skiing with family and family friends.
Mark Veit ‘28: I spend time with my family and do a Secret Santa with my cousins, but it’s not actually secret because we all know who has who.
Allison Schwartz ‘28: We wake up really early and open our presents, and in the afternoon my family and I go to the beach!
Elias Duran Gomez ‘28: We just stay home and eat good food.
Caitlin Grahmann ‘28: I’m going to Colorado to ski!
Nate Avina ‘28: I go to my grandparents in Atascadero and my grandparents in Orange County!
Alessandra Morey ‘28: I go to my aunt and uncle’s house for dinner and all of my cousins come. In the morning my mom, brother, and I open presents.
Maritza Guido Valdivia ‘28: This year I am celebrating Christmas by going to church on the 24th and the 25th with my parents to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. I’m also going to go with my extended family to celebrate Christmas Eve and open Christmas presents with them at 12:00.
Anna Perone ‘28: I go to the East Coast to see family and listen to Christmas music.
Nika Dalili ‘28: I’m going to ski in Colorado with my family and friends.
