As Halloween approaches, costume predictions are always a hot topic. We asked some SHP community members what they thought would be the most trendy Halloween costumes this season. Here’s what we got:
The most popular prediction from the freshman class was the Dallas Cowboys’ Cheerleaders. This costume may be huge this year because of the huge Netflix docuseries. Definitely prepare yourself to see lots of Thunderstruck TikToks!
From the sophomores, Sadie Harmssen 27’ had the most creative Halloween costume prediction we’ve heard so far. She thought students would go in “all fast food costumes.” We have yet to see this, so we can’t wait to be inspired by either Sadie’s fast food fit or the many others that plan to rock this look this Halloween.
The juniors gave us a little more variety. Emma Picetti ‘26 thinks that lots of girls will go as Cheetahs. She thinks it is going to be popular because the cheetah pattern is already a rapidly growing fashion trend. Some even say it is its own color! She also mentioned police officers, witches, and construction workers. These three, also popular last Halloween, are coming back for Halloween 2024. Ellie Sabo 26’ remarked, “I think a lot of girls will be dressing up as animals, mostly Party Animals.” The Party Animal trend, seen mostly on TikTok, is a costume consisting of an animal pattern based outfit, with a party hat to wear on your head. It is cute and comfy and undoubtedly will be seen throughout this month.
Finally, from the senior class, Mayowa Otudeko-Carroll 25’ mentioned princesses, firefighters, and vampires. These are three classic Halloween looks that we’ve been seeing throughout the last few years, so hopefully we can see some new variations and creative takes on these costumes.
Based on these predictions, we are excited to see where this season takes us! We’re ready to review and rate the costumes we see at school, so come dressed to impress because on October 31st, all eyes will be on the lookout for the most creative costume!
